The Mazovia Trojak belongs to the group of “three-person” dances popular in many regions of Poland. In Polish, the word trojak means “threesome”, “trio” and refers to the number of dancers, where the male dancer is always in the middle. Trojak is a two-part dance performed in triple (3/4) and double (2/4) metre. The 1st part is slow and the 2nd part is fast. Trojak is danced around a circle in any number of dancers that form trios. The Mazovia Trojak is an example of a dance, in which the world of the court mingles with the rustic expression.
